• The 49ers tied the Las Vegas Raiders 24-24 on Friday night in an NFL preseason finale that was many players' last chance to prove they belong on the 53-man roster. Roster cuts must be made by 1 p.m. PT on Tuesday.
• 49ers starting QB Brock Purdy played better in his second preseason game, completing 9 of 12 passes for 96 yards with one interception on a deflection.
• Josh Dobbs and Brandon Allen, who are competing for the backup QB job behind Purdy, both played in what amounted to a final audition. Allen went first and was 5-of-7 passing for 60 yards but took two costly sacks. Dobbs then entered and completed 8 of 10 passes for 72 yards and one touchdown for a game-high 130 passer ratings. Advantage: Dobbs?
• San Francisco received bad injury news after defensive linemen Leonard Floyd and Yetur Gross-Matos both sustained knee sprains on the same first-half drive and had to leave the game. Any prolonged absence by either player would greatly test the 49ers' D-line depth.
